India v Sri Lanka : The second day of the First Test Match
July 23, 2008
The second day of the first Test greeted India and Sri Lanka will clear skies as play started on time at the Sinhalese Sports Club ground on Thursday.
India began the second day without much luck as Zaheer Khan’s return catch off Warnapura was ruled a no-ball by umpire Mark Benson.
Only 22 overs were possible on the opening day here, after Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene won the toss and elected to bat on a rain interrupted day, which was further shortened due to bad light.
