FINALLY, THE long wait of cricket fans across the world ended. Sachin Tendulkar became the highest scorer in the history of Test Cricket today (October 17). The little master surpassed West Indian cricketer Brian Lara’s record of 11, 953 runs in the ongoing second Test match in Mohali.

When Tendulkar came to the crease he needed just 15 runs to overtake Lara’s record. The master blaster also holds the world record of most runs (16,361) in One-Day Internationals. In addition to these records, he has scored most centuries in Test matches, One Day Internationals, 39 and 42, respectively. Apart from these records, there are several world records to the credit of the 35-year-old right handed batting maestro.

In this Test, Tendulkar scored 88 runs. He has become the first player in Test cricket to score more than 12,000 runs. Congratulations Tendulkar for creating the world record and all the best for setting up another record.
